Position Description

Cal Scenic is regularly seeking to update and expand our pool of overhire staff. Many skills are useful in our shop, including (but limited to) carpentry, welding, sewing, painting, sculpting, and LED wiring. A background in theater is not required.

Hours will vary as needed and may include nights, weekends and holidays.

Carpentry Overhire: candidates preferably have a basic knowledge of power tools.

Electrics Overhire: candidates should be able to install, and troubleshoot conventional lighting fixtures and LED’s.

Scenic Overhire: candidates preferably have familiarity with painting and/or sculpting techniques

Qualifications: You are an ideal candidate if you:

  • Enjoy working in a creative, collaborative, fast-paced atmosphere and contribute to the creation of a positive work environment.

  • Share a respect for diverse backgrounds and voices and a commitment to inclusion and equity.

  • Are punctual and detail-oriented.

  • Follow equipment safety procedures, always.

  • Use all appropriate PPE

  • Are able to work independently and in a team setting.

  • Have the ability to lift 50lbs (preferred). 

Compensation:

This is a part-time, non-exempt position. Contract length varies with the size of the project. Wage range starts at $24/hour
